I got an e-mail from mistry-to-children.com today titled, Attitude is Important. I’m so thankful for the help of this ministry this morning so I wanted to share it with you as well.
We’ve been struggling with some bad attitudes in our house lately. I asked my daughter Gracie what she thought causes us to have bad attitudes. She said without having to think at all, “When we don’t get what we want.” That pretty much sums it up. We talked about Philippians 4:8 and what we should be setting our minds on. If we start our day thinking about ourselves, pleasing ourselves, thinking about our stuff, or what we need to do, we will inevitably struggle with a bad attitude because we will not remember who we are (God’s loved one’s!), who God is (Holy and Good!), or what we are here for (to glorify Him!). Our minds need renewing constantly or we do go back to thinking that life is about us. This little acrostic poem they suggested on their website is a great tool to use to discuss attitude at home. Maybe take each verse/letter and talk about attitude with your family during an entire week. Make a cheer to memorize it and shout it out! Play a game called bad attitude/good attitude where you have to take turns acting out one or the other and decide which it was! It can be fun!
Who of us does not need an attitude check pretty much every day?! =)
